It is a natural substitute for Diamond, with a hardness rated between 9.25 and 9.5 on the Mohs scale. This makes it the second hardest gem that occurs naturally. Its brilliance surpasses that of Diamond, thanks to a higher refractive index. It works on a Diamond tester!
